Next Generation CO2 Incubator Designed for Demanding Applications

The new Memmert ICO CO2 incubator is engineered to create the ideal environment for sensitive biological samples. Whether used in research, clinical settings or pharmaceutical development, it delivers stable and reproducible conditions for cell cultures, bacteria cultures and tissue samples.

By maintaining a homogeneous distribution of temperature, humidity and CO2, the ICO ensures maximum process reliability. This stability is essential wherever even minor fluctuations could compromise results or sample integrity.

Condensation-Free and Highly Stable Conditions

One of the defining features of the ICO incubator is its ability to operate condensation-free at 37°C and 95% relative humidity. This eliminates one of the most common risks in cell culture environments—uncontrolled moisture build-up.

The system combines active humidity control with heating from multiple sides and a heated inner glass door. Together, these features minimise evaporation, reduce recovery times after door openings and prevent condensation from forming inside the chamber.

This controlled atmosphere protects sensitive samples while ensuring consistent experimental conditions across the entire chamber.

Advanced Safety and Sample Protection

Memmert places strong emphasis on safety, integrating multiple layers of protection within the ICO incubator. These include electronic temperature monitoring, a mechanical temperature limiter and an auto-diagnostic system.

In addition, visual and acoustic alarms alert users if parameters deviate from defined limits, while mobile notifications provide real-time updates.

To maintain sterility, the entire chamber—including sensors and internal components—can be sterilised at 180°C in just 60 minutes. This ensures reliable decontamination and supports high hygiene standards in laboratory environments.

An integrated HEPA filtration system further enhances cleanliness by filtering the complete air volume regularly, delivering cleanroom-like conditions inside the chamber.

Intuitive Operation and Smart Connectivity

Ease of use is central to the ICO’s design. The incubator features an intuitive control system, combining the Memmert ControlCOCKPIT with a modern touch display integrated directly into the door handle.

This design allows users to access parameters, historical data and programming functions quickly and efficiently. The system supports user authentication, ensuring secure and controlled access.

Connectivity is another key strength. With USB and Ethernet interfaces, as well as integrated data logging, users can monitor and manage processes remotely. Data can be stored for up to ten years, supporting traceability and compliance.

Digital Integration with myChamber

As part of Memmert’s next-generation platform, the ICO incubator integrates with the myChamber digital ecosystem. This enables remote monitoring, centralised device management and real-time data access via smartphone or desktop.

The system also supports audit-compliant documentation and seamless integration into laboratory information management systems (LIMS), helping laboratories meet regulatory requirements while improving efficiency.
