User Training

Henderson Biomedical is able to offer comprehensive training to people who frequently use centrifuges or heat sealers in their daily work. This is particularly useful for people who are not familiar with these instruments.

Whilst we are not a training provider or consultant, we are able to advise on general use and best practices which should help you. This is based on over 30 years of experience.

Centrifuge training

Centrifuges can be extremely dangerous if users do not know what they are doing. Centrifuges typically run at speeds of 1,000 rpm to 20,000 rpm. If a centrifuge is poorly maintained and/or the user is not properly trained, the damage to your centrifuge can be catastrophic. Furthermore, you are seriously putting the safety of other people at risk.

We recommend that all users are properly trained on how to use centrifuges given the risks. Our training aims to mitigate these risks as much as possible.

Topics covered include:

  • Introduction to centrifuges
  • Installation guidelines
  • Adjusting the centrifuge settings
  • Introduction to refrigerated centrifuges
  • Cleaning and decontaminating accessories
  • Overview of centrifuge servicing and calibration
  • General good centrifuge practice
  • Common faults and how to rectify them
  • Safety precautions

Heat sealer training

Heat sealer training is useful for people who are not familiar with using such devices on a daily basis. Knowing exactly what the heat sealer is capable of and how to prolong the life of your instrument is useful for any user.

Topics covered include:

  • Introduction to heat sealers
  • Installation guidelines
  • Adjusting the heat sealer settings
  • Overview of heat sealer servicing and calibration
  • General good heat sealer practice
  • Common faults and how to rectify them
  • Safety precautions

Topics may be tailored depending on the requirements of the user. The above training lasts between 2 and 4 hours and can be carried out for up to 10 people. Training usually takes place on the customer’s site but can equally be completed at our site in London. Upon completion of the training, each participant will be issued with a Certificate of Attendance.  For more details on either centrifuge or heat sealer training, please contact us.
