Since 1987, Henderson Biomedical have been committed to the service, repair and calibration of laboratory equipment in hospitals. Our main customer base is within the different strands of pathology as well as in Central Sterile Service Departments (CSSDs), with our core focus being on centrifuges and heat sealers respectively.
However, over the years, we have extended our services to other types of laboratory equipment including, but not limited to, refrigerators, freezers and incubators. For a full list of the types of devices we can support, you can view our Service Maintenance Agreements page.
We are able to send an engineer to your site anywhere within
mainland Great Britain to perform a service or repair. Alternatively, providing
your device is not too big, you can send it into our workshop to benefit from a
lower back-to-base rate.
When you call us for a repair, we aim to get you back up and running within 5 working days (subject to availability of parts). We also aim to send out an electronic copy of the service report and calibration certificate (if requested) within 5 working days of completing the job.
Service Maintenance Agreements
We offer three Service Maintenance Agreements (SMAs)
tailored to your needs. You can choose to mix and match different SMAs for
different departments and you can choose to have either one service visit or
two depending on how much the equipment is used. We can provide you with one
SMA which covers all types of instruments, regardless of age.
ISO 17025 accreditation
In 2015, we were awarded ISO 17025 accreditation by UKAS. This allows us to calibrate a range of different laboratory equipment devices to UKAS standards. You can see full details of the equipment we can calibrate along with our measurements of uncertainty by viewing our schedule.
New and used equipment
If you are looking to replace your laboratory equipment, we would be happy to guide you through the process. We can supply brand new equipment including Hettich centrifuges, Vestfrost freezers, Memmert incubators and more.
If buying new is not an option, we have a large stock of used laboratory equipment for a fraction of the price. Our used equipment list changes frequently, so please contact us for an up to date list of what is available.
Laboratory equipment relocation
If your department is relocating to another building or
hospital, our team are able to assist with this. We have undertaken a number of
projects where general purpose laboratory equipment has needed to be relocated.
We aim to make the process as swift and pain free as possible for you. We are
also able to re-calibrate equipment upon relocation if this is required.
Flexible payment methods
If you would like to make a capital equipment purchase, but can’t afford to buy outright, we are able to offer finance options via our financial partner, WestWon. Payment can be spread over 1 to 10 years. You can choose to make monthly, quarterly or annual payments. You can even choose to make payments on a mutually agreed fixed date that is convenient to you.
