We have been servicing, repairing and calibrating laboratory equipment in universities since 1987. Our core focus is with centrifuges including refrigerated and non-refrigerated types (excluding ultras). However, over the years, we have branched out into other product areas. We are also able to provide technical support and calibration for refrigerators and freezers (including Ultra Low Temperature models).

We work with a number of leading universities across the UK, typically in science and research departments.

Service Maintenance Agreements

We offer three types of Service Maintenance Agreements (SMAs): Bronze, Silver and Gold. You can add a mixture of different instruments (such as centrifuges, freezers and incubators) onto one SMA. Furthermore, you can mix and match different types of SMAs for different departments. You can also opt for 2 service visits instead of just one. This is ideal for equipment that is subject to heavy use. Regardless of which SMA you choose, you will be given priority treatment for any ad-hoc repairs and you will always be able to contact us for free technical advice over the phone.

New and used equipment

If you are looking to replace old laboratory equipment, our team would be happy to advise you on the options available to you. We can supply new centrifuges, refrigerators, freezers, incubators, safety cabinets, water baths and more. We can also supply you with used laboratory equipment at a fraction of the price of new. We have literally hundreds of different devices available which could save you thousands of pounds off the list price.

Free equipment audit

Sometimes it is hard to know exactly what you have and have not got in your laboratory and indeed what is worth keeping or disposing of. In instances like these, we are able to carry out a full equipment audit of the devices you have. We will note the make, model, serial number and location of the device as well as give you impartial advice on what might be worth replacing. We can then provide you with a report which will give you a clearer idea of what you have. This is particularly useful when generating business cases to justify funding. It can also help you with forecasting as you will better understand what capital equipment purchases might be required in the future.

Finance options

Sometimes, purchasing capital equipment outright is not an option. Luckily, Henderson Biomedical have partnered with the UK’s leading asset finance company, WestWon. Payments for capital equipment purchases and even Service Maintenance Agreements can be spread over a period of 1 to 10 years. You are also given the increased flexibility of being able to make regular payments at a mutually agreed date.

Training

We are able to offer basic centrifuge training (link to new page) to students covering best practices as well as health and safety. Training is important because it can avoid costly accidental damage and also ensure that students operate the equipment safely. Training normally takes place on your site, but training can equally take place at our site in London.
