Why should I have all three parameters (speed, time and temperature) calibrated on my heat sealer?

This is crucial because all three of these parameters need to be working as they should, else your seal will be compromised. For example, say the speed is too slow. The pouch would be in the jaws of the heater-bar for too long and melt the pouch- in this case, it doesn’t matter that the force and temperature are performing within spec as the speed is way out. If the seal is compromised, the contents can’t be truly sterile and this could lead to healthcare associated infections (HCAIs).
