What is a pouch destruction test and how often should I have one completed?

A pouch destruction test (also known as a peel test) is where you send a batch of 10 pre-sealed pouches by post and we will pull them apart in a specially calibrated device. We record the results and send you a certificate of whether the seals passed or failed.

The pouch destruction test is a good way of periodically checking that your heat sealer is performing as it should. There is no rule on how often a pouch destruction test should be carried out, but we recommend every 3 months under normal usage.
